Do not forget the kids when you are into your woodworking projects. There are lots of projects for the kids and they will love you for building them some. Of course one of the most popular projects for kids is the cubby house. All kids love a cubby house as somewhere to call their own. Where they can sit and make believe to their hearts content or play their games. It will serve them as toddlers right through to big kids as a place to get away and hide.

The range of cubby house designs are plentiful and you can select something as trendy as you want. It can be single story or two story although make sure the kids are old enough to handle the second story. The materials used can be as varied as you want as well and if you like you can build something to match the house. The kids could have their very own miniature house. So you can see the cubby house can be as elaborate or as simple as you like. It is only as limited as your imagination. All of your construction will be in lumber so will be reliably easy especially if you get some step by step plans and patterns. You will have it done in no time and the kids will love it.

If your kids are a bit older and you have some suitable trees they love to play in a tree house. Build it as high up as you can get it with a rope ladder access. From the tree house have a rope bridge to another tree platform and a flying fox or rope swing back to ground. Bigger kids will love the challenge and spend many happy hours playing pirates or Tarzan games high in the trees.

Your imagination here is an asset. If you are going to build something so adventurous get some input form the kids. They will soon fill you with ideas of what they would like so you can formulate a plan around them. Get some woodworking plans and get some more ideas. Check out what you would like to build and remember, if you are going to put something up high in a tree you will be working off a ladder and be limited in what you can do. Now you have planed the idea the kids will not let you forget so maybe as well get started. They will love you for it.
